Your Truth in Action

It can feel wonderful to become clear on your essence or the truth about who you are, to see your patterns in a new light, to create a powerful intention for yourself to honor your truth.

However, there is another step that is vital to sharing your truth – bringing that energy into the world through action and manifestation.  And there is a difference between how you bring your truth into action.  I differentiate between action and inspired action.

There is a big difference between “doing” from a mental space of what your mind thinks you should be doing or what someone else tells you that you should be doing, and allowing your inner wisdom to guide you through what I call inspired action.  When you do something from a place of should or mental action, you may be out of alignment with your core self and your truth.  When this happens, not only do the results not turn out well but you may step out of the space of health and harmony in your body and your life.

This doesn’t mean that these mental action from your daily "to do" lists don’t have value or aren’t legitimate because they have their place, too.  My “to do” list is often made up of action steps.  Things I need and want to get done which are real and sometimes have real external deadlines.  However, when you can combine the process of action and inspiration, your results will be more powerful, effective, and satisfying because they are aligned with your truth.  This type of forward motion equals what I call, of course, inspired action!

Inspired action is when you are guided by your inner wisdom in taking action.  Your inner wisdom is what I refer to as the voice of your truth.  You can call it whatever you want but it represents that space of neutral knowing that connects you to your own best internal answers.  Inspired action includes not only the idea before the action but the action step itself.  I know that my answers and my inspired actions can always be accessed from within.

The key is to remember and make the space to  tap into this energy.   Meditation or a quiet space of pause can be an effective tool to connect with your inner wisdom.  You need to make the time and space, as little as a minute, to hear those internal answers.  Then bring that information out and merge it in a way that feels right with that “to do” list.

As a "doer", the practice of moving more from a place of being and allowing the flow of my inner wisdom to guide my actions can sometimes be challenging.  I can get caught up in my daily life of tasks or overly attached to outcomes so that I forget to allow from within.  Especially under stress or when something feels less than comfortable, I fall into my old pattern of barreling ahead from my mind and my on-going, ever-expanding “to do” list.  At these times, I simply try to catch myself and pause.  In that space, I step back to see my list from my inner wisdom connection and re-examine what feels right to move forward with in the moment.  This space of allowing my actions to stem from my truth in each moment is powerful and feels the most aligned with the changing nature of being in the moment.

Play with using inspired action a few times and notice the difference.
