Restoring Broken Trust is Never Easy…
Can Trust Be Restored?
Sometimes restoring trust in a relationship is not worth the effort and sometimes it is. Each situation is different in its own way but we all experience the same emotions when it comes to love and relationships.
Love has always been a topic that captivated the poets mind. As a result some very powerful quotes exist, quotes that took very deep thinking on the part of the poet. We can all gain great wisdom through the use of proverbs and famous quotes if we pay attention to the underlining meaning and how it could apply to our situation.
Here are some inspiring quotes that I hope you'll find useful:
Joyce Brothers: The best proof of love is trust.
Margaret Mitchell: I was never one to patiently pick up broken fragments and glue them back together again and tell myself that the mended whole was as good as new. What is broken is broken, and I'd rather remember it as it was at its best than mend it and see the broken pieces as long as I lived.
Alexander Graham Bell: When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and so regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.
Richard Back: If you love something, set it free; if it comes back it's yours, if it doesn't, it never was.
So again you are trying to restore trust in a relationship that was once there but isn't now? I think you can see that changing your way of thinking may actually be the key to your success. Sometimes the obvious answer simply escapes us because we are in a certain stubborn state of mind. We all experience this, emotions are a very powerful force of nature, they have the power to cripple clear thinking.
We want so bad to get what we want that we fail to think deeply and practically about our predicament. Hopefully these quotes will allow you as they have me to open your mind and gain some clarity. Personally I think you should start by simply accepting your situation as it is right now before you do anything else.
Before you can fix the problem you have to identify the problem.. If trust is going to be restored in your relationship it will have to happen naturally. Trust isn't something that you can artificially inseminate into a relationship, it is either there or it isn't. I really love the thought provoking first quote by Joyce Brother, I think that it makes allot of sense in this situation.
There is a book that you might want to read called The Magic of Making Up written by a gentleman named T.W. Jackson. This book is a real eye opener and it is not just for people in conflict, this is a must read for anyone looking for solid advice on relationships especially where trust is the issue.
The Magic of Making Up woke me up to a lot of things that I never thought of in terms of long term relationship advice.
His suggestions are all total common sense but somehow escape many of us. In this case the advice on relationships that T.W. hands out is totally unconventional, things that you will not hear from the $100.00 per hour relationship doctor's or get from most relationship books. You might want to check this out for yourself by clicking the link below, you can start by watching an under 10 minute video where T.W. talks about the power of acceptance.
